How to Renew Your Business Registration in Ghana

A sole proprietorship renews its business name annually. A company files annual returns instead. Both services are handled by the Office of the Registrar of Companies (ORC).

Renew a sole proprietorship

Visit the Ghana.gov annual renewal page, sign in, select your business, and follow the payment steps. You can also dial *222#, select ORC, and enter your business registration number. Keep your receipt. Source: ORC

To renew in person, take your registration certificate or number and any previous renewal receipts to an ORC service point. Staff can confirm whether you owe for earlier years. Current forms are available on the ORC forms page.

How much does it cost?

The ORC’s 2026 fee schedule lists GH₵70 for a sole proprietorship’s annual renewal, GH₵100 for a partnership renewal, and GH₵175 for a company’s annual returns.

Outstanding filings or penalties may increase the total.

File each year and check ORC announcements for the deadline that applies to you. Do not assume that a deadline extension from a previous year still applies.
